Today, a month after getting a big promotion, I found out that I'm stuck with my old job. No one wants to take my old position, so they are vacating my new one and will post it, because, "This one is more desirable, and your's is shit." FML

Today, after interviewing for a promotion to a position that was created with me in mind, I eagerly accepted a call from my boss, expecting good news. Turns out, they found a better applicant, who they don't believe will need support from the position I currently hold, so it's being eliminated. FML

After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. Today, my coworker threw a bitch fit about not getting a promotion she'd applied for. My other coworker had got it, so after her fit, management worked something out: they gave the promotion to her, and the coworker that originally had it was given a promotion that I'd been promised for months. Now I have none. FML

If you qualified for that position you qualify for a similar one someplace else that will respect you and your time more. And they can fill your 'shit' position with 2 weeks notice and without you to train your replacement. Good luck!

Complain to HR. You got the promotion and deserve it. It's not your fault your old position is crap and no one wants it. That's your boss' problem, not yours, and you should be able to keep the promotion. Or talk to your boss and tell your boss if he doesn't let you keep the promotion, then this is your official two weeks notice. Then he has two positions to fill, not one.
